Antioqueno Aguardiente Sin Azucar

A wonderfully clean and vibrant aguardiente with a crystalline nose of fresh anise, fennel seed and sugarcane, together with hints of white flowers, licorice root and crushed herbs. Light- to medium-bodied with a sleek, almost silky texture. The palate is dry and focused, with bright anise and subtle cane sweetness followed by white pepper and cooling herbal notes. There’s plenty of warmth, but the alcohol is nicely integrated and gives the spirit energy rather than harshness. The absence of sugar makes this particularly refreshing, allowing the purity of the anise and cane spirit to come through clearly. Clean and persistent on the finish, with star anise, fennel, mint and a lightly peppery sensation. Straightforward but exceptionally well executed and very drinkable. Serve well chilled.
