Beautifully restrained and complex, with aromas of pink grapefruit, lemon curd and white peach followed by elderflower, chamomile and delicate flint. With air come vanilla bean, pastry cream and toasted almond, but the oak remains beautifully integrated rather than dominating the fruit. Medium- to full-bodied with a wonderfully creamy entry that quickly tightens across the palate. Citrus, pear and subtle stone fruit are framed by exceptional acidity, with white pepper, ginger and crushed stone bringing savory tension through the middle. The partial malolactic character contributes texture rather than obvious butteriness, while Grechetto gives the wine a distinctly Italian freshness and bite. Long, mineral and wonderfully energetic, finishing with grapefruit, toasted almond, ginger and lingering saline notes. A superbly polished white that combines Burgundian technique with unmistakable Mediterranean personality. Give it a little time.
