Chateau de Nalys Chateauneuf-du-Pape (2019)

This acclaimed full-bodied Southern Rhone wine was crafted by the legendary Guigal family.The blend is primarily dominated by 59% complimented with Grenache, 32% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, 3% Counoise, and 1% Vaccarese.The terroir is a mix of fine red sandy clay soils, providing a balance of acidity, freshness, and a silky, smooth mouthfeel.The wine is aged meticulously for 24 months, with ⅔ rds aged in large French oak, with the other ⅓ rd aged in traditional oak barrels.The aromas are an intense mix of red and black berries, layered over hints of vanilla, mint, cedar, black and white pepper, and minerally soil.This wine pairs well with roast lamb, grilled steaks, bbq, wild game, Beef Bourguignon, mushroom and other earthy vegetables, and aged cheeses.
