This celebrated Southern Rhone red has an average wine rating of 98 points,The blend consists of 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah with the remaining 5%a mix of other local varieties.Ripe blackberries, cherries, Provencal herbs, are accented by wild floral notes, hints of spicy white and black pepper, anise, and leather.The grapes are de-stemmed, co-fermented in stainless steel, followed by 15-18 months in neutral wooden barrels.This wine is unfiltered.This wine pairs well with Roast lamb, venison, wild boar, duck, cassoulet, earthy vegetables (mushrooms and root vegetables), hard aged cheeses, and bleu cheese.
