The 2023 Clos du Val Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon refined and beautifully composed Napa Cabernet with aromas of blackberry, cassis and black cherry, together with graphite, violet, bitter chocolate and subtle savory herbs. Medium- to full-bodied with excellent concentration, yet there is freshness and restraint throughout. The palate is packed with dark berries and blue plum, followed by cocoa, toasted almond, cedar and a touch of tobacco. Fine, polished tannins provide impressive structure without heaviness, while bright acidity gives the fruit definition and energy. Long and focused on the finish, with lingering blackcurrant, graphite, dark chocolate and savory spice. Elegant rather than opulent, showing the classical side of Napa Cabernet. Drink now or hold.

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot, aged 12 months in 30% new French oak and bottled at 14.5% alcohol.
