Denis Bachelet Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes (2023) is a brilliant old-vine Burgundy. Denis Bachelet’s prized old vines are sourced from six parcels planted 70–90 years ago. This is a powerful yet beautifully precise Gevrey. On the palate we get flavors of black cherry, cassis, grilled meat, cocoa, cedar, and Gevrey’s signature dark mineral earth unfold over a rich, creamy, deeply layered. We suggest, on the nose we get aromas of cassis meet earth, spice, and subtle smoky oak. We suggest pairing, with roast duck, lamb, game birds, mushroom dishes, or aged Comté.
