Domaine Dujac’s 2023 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is situated just north of Morey-Saint-Denis, between Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, on a steep 13% slope with plots ranging from 284 to 309 meters in altitude. Clos Saint - Denis is often called the “Mozart” of the Morey Grand Crus for being the most aromatic and silky of Dujac’s Morey Grand Crus, usually emphasizing perfume and finesse over the more earth-driven authority of Clos de la Roche. The Domaine Dujac’s Clos Saint - Denis Grand Cru 2023 vintage showcases the refined and silky character typical of Clos Saint-Denis. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with deep and penetrating, earthy, cherry flavors ; accompanied by a long saline-mineral finish that underscores freshness and elegance. While on the nose, aromas of cherries, raspberries, violets, spices, and forest floor. The aromatic and elegance of this wine makes it approachable earlier than some tight vintages. We recommend pairing it with roast pigeon or duck, herb-roasted quail, veal with chanterelles, mushroom dishes, or delicate game preparations that will respect its perfume and structural finesse.
