Giulio Cocchi Americano Aperitivo

A wonderfully fragrant and energetic aperitif with aromas of orange blossom, elderflower and ripe peach, together with lemon zest, bitter orange and fresh alpine herbs. There are lovely notes of Muscat grapes, chamomile and pear underneath. Medium-bodied with a silky, almost oily texture, but excellent acidity keeps everything bright. The palate starts sweet and floral, showing white peach, citrus and orchard fruit before gentian, wormwood and cinchona gradually take control. The bitterness is beautifully measured, bringing grapefruit pith, black tea and dried herbs without obscuring the expressive Moscato fruit. Long, refreshing and increasingly dry on the finish, with bitter orange, lemon peel, mint and quinine. Wonderful tension between fruit, florals and bitterness. Deliciously individual and exceptionally versatile. Drink chilled with soda and orange peel or use in a Vesper.
