Highland Park 12 Year Old Viking Honour Single Malt Scotch Whisky 86 Proof

Beautifully composed aromas of Seville orange, heather honey and baked apple with cinnamon, nutmeg and gently smoked malt. Dried apricot and spiced fruitcake emerge with air, followed by jasmine and a faint maritime quality. Medium-bodied and wonderfully balanced, with honeyed malt and burnt orange at the center, surrounded by baking spices, toasted nuts and restrained sherry sweetness. The peat is remarkably civilized—not medicinal or heavily ashy, but floral, earthy and aromatic, gradually appearing behind the fruit. Pepper, orange zest and slightly woody spice build toward the finish, with honey and fragrant smoke lingering gently. Not enormously concentrated, but exceptionally harmonious. Classic single malt with virtually nothing out of place.
