Kentucky Vintage Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

A charming, traditional bourbon with aromas of sweet corn, vanilla bean and caramel alongside ripe apple, red cherry and toasted oak. Hints of butterscotch, roasted nuts and cinnamon emerge with air. Medium-bodied and supple, with an appealing buttery texture. Sweet corn and vanilla lead the palate before caramel, baked apple and subtle rye spice arrive, followed by increasingly dry oak. There’s a touch of campfire smoke underneath that gives the otherwise straightforward fruit-and-caramel profile some welcome character. Nicely balanced at 90 proof, with moderate concentration and very little alcoholic aggression. The finish is medium in length, showing vanilla, toasted corn, cinnamon and dry oak. Simple, mellow and satisfying. A very traditional Kentucky bourbon that succeeds through balance rather than intensity.
