Rowan's Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

A wonderfully aromatic bourbon with plenty of caramel and vanilla at first, opening into dark cherries, orange peel, wildflowers and fresh herbs. Hints of mint, cinnamon, fennel seed and toasted grain follow, with an appealing earthy character underneath. Full-bodied and nicely oily on entry, showing rich caramel, vanilla bean and maple before the whiskey turns increasingly spicy and dry. There’s excellent tension between the sweeter corn-driven flavors and the more savory notes of rye grass, licorice, pepper and oak. Some dried apricot, almond and citrus peel emerge through the middle. The finish is long and warming, with peppermint, cinnamon, seasoned oak and lingering floral spice. Characterful and slightly eccentric, with enough proof to give the distinctive Willett profile real presence.
