Sagamore Spirit Signature Rye Whiskey 375mL

A polished and wonderfully inviting rye with aromas of golden apple, ripe peach and red cherry intertwined with honey, caramel and toasted grain. Plenty of classic rye character emerges with air: cinnamon, nutmeg, cracked pepper and warm baking spices, together with hints of almond paste, vanilla and cedar. Medium- to full-bodied with a supple, coating texture and an appealing balance between fruit and spice. The palate is initially sweet and juicy, showing apple, honey and brown sugar, before toasted rye, cinnamon and increasingly dry oak take control. Nicely judged at 93 proof, retaining enough concentration and warmth without sacrificing its unusually approachable personality. The finish is persistent rather than massive, with honey, seasoned oak, rye bread, apple skin and black pepper. Balanced, expressive and distinctly fruit-driven. An excellent modern interpretation of Maryland-style rye.
