Willett Distillery Rare Release 4 Years Old Family Estate Small Batch Cask Strength Straight Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey

Bold and immediately spicy, with aromas of caramel corn, vanilla and butterscotch alongside orange peel, cinnamon, mint and toasted grain. With air come lemon pastry, honey and a slightly tropical fruitiness. Full-bodied and powerful, with an oily texture carrying caramel, crème brûlée and brown sugar before the rye component asserts itself with cinnamon, black pepper, clove and fresh mint. There's an intriguing Willett funkiness underneath—fruity, herbal and slightly eccentric—but the whiskey's youth remains apparent. Oak arrives surprisingly early for only four years of maturation, followed by considerable pepper and alcoholic warmth. Long and muscular, with caramel, cinnamon, mint and dry oak lingering through a hot finish. Characterful and unmistakably Willett, but still waiting for maturity to catch up with its proof.
